To My Little Lady

Oh Sweet P,

Another year has come and gone, and you continue to delight us in the most unexpected ways.  Your ferocity and joy are abundant and contagious, and you are the most loved little lady.  Hearing you speak words, join in conversations, and giggle the most jubilant giggle are things that I never want to forget.  I love that you now burst into song when your favorites come on the radio.  You love dancing, especially with your brother, and any peg doll or stuffed animal you can get your hands on is affectionately referred to as your ‘baby.’

Your determination to be 15 and independent both entertains me and breaks my heart because I see my beautiful baby transforming by the minute into my beautiful little girl.  I love the way you stand your ground against your brother and all of your boy cousins, yet love to get into my make up and naturally doing your hair has become a favorite past time.

I can’t thank you enough for the femininity that you’ve evoked in me.  You’ve inspired me to be a better woman, a better mommy, and to live more passionately with abandon for you and your brother.  I love the way you shout ‘Amen’, giggle until you can barely speak ‘all done’ and squeal with delight when you see Daddy or myself after we’ve been apart.

You, sweet girl, are an incredible gift, and we are so grateful to be your family.

XO

Mommy

So beautiful! Before I was pregnant, I always wanted boys. After having a girl though, I’m never going back. It’s funny how your baby girl can feel like your best friend. Loved this 🙂

So true! All I ever wanted was my baby boy, which did come first. I was scared to death to have a girl, but it has been so beautiful! Wouldn’t change it for anything.
